If it's not quite winter, Autumn certainly has a very impressive winter costume, cos it's fooling me!
Rebecca & I (in true twin fashion) both put our crochet hooks to one side for a wee bit last night & made winter comfort food instead... In her household at Pukerua Bay, Rebecca opted for a steak & cheese pie, with succulent steak cooked all day long in a slow cooker, while in Mount Cook Wellington I was making an apple pie for dessert! After delicious pies it was straight back into the crochet, hooking into more creations for our upcoming stall: Ladies shopping night at FIG TREE CAFE Trentham/Upper Hutt Fri 28 May 7:30 - 10pm Rebecca & I will be selling our crafty/crochet goods, alongside Kate Betteridge & her gorgeous 'Scarlett' range $5 entry donation goes to Heretaunga Kindy so please come along & support local crafts & local kindys. We love finding bargains at craft fairs & believe that prices at fairs should be reasonable, so come along to ensure a bargain at the three bags full stall - $20 for a winter beanee, what the? be there or be not so warm! http://www.facebook.com/#!/?sk=messages&tid=1475448452208

the newtown festival turned out to be a brilliant day! it's a funny thought buying woollen goods on a beautifully hot sun shinny day, but wellington turned up, represented & purchased! i guess it has a lot to do with wellingtonians knowing that the next cold southerly is just around the corner...
Rebecca & I would like to thank everyone who brought, looked at, liked, loved, touched, tried on our gears! also, big thanks to our friend Kate Betteridge who supplied us with her 'scarlett' range to sell on her behalf - her stuff flew off the board like "hotcakes on a cold day!" (a quote that our seven year old nephew was using on the day!) we got great feedback about our gear & can say that we are actually really proud of the stuff we had there. We also learnt a lot about what 'the people' love & have already got ourselves busy 'hooking' into more hand-lovingly-made crochet goods that are not only good for your soul, they are good for your mum, cousin, best friend, grandma, boss, aunty, nephew, mother-in-law, sister, niece, rugby team, brother....... we'll be updating the website & uploading more pics, so please say tuned. yours in wool sonia & rebecca xo well it's that time again - time for three bags full to represent/present/sell/barter/swap our goods at the Newtown Festival!
Rebecca & I have been mighty busy in recent weeks (days!) crocheting our fingers raw, getting our stock levels up for the almighty festival so here's what you need to know: NEWTOWN FESTIVAL three bags full stall this sunday 7th march 2010 10am-4pm see you there with a pocket full of money! Sonia xo I found this gorgeous homemade orange dress while out op-shopping for an outfit to wear to a friends funk soul party. It was a full length number that went all the way to the floor.
But I wanted a short dress, so I decided to lop it off half way down. And I just wanted to say to the girl in the queue at the op-shop – I kept my promise and made the rest of the material into a handbag. Actually 2 handbags. I didn’t quite make them myself though, that was my crafty friend Rebecca. Thank you! They are super duper orangalicious. - Chrissy welcome spring & welcome hand made crochet gear!
today is a bitter-sweet day... unfortunately we got word that we weren't accepted for a certain craft stall that we were totally holding our breath for, so that peed us off quite a bit & of course got us questioning WHY!? & in all that searching we decided that we didn't need that dam stall anyway & our crochet goods are pretty dam good, infact: the sun shines out of our crafts! even though is it seeming warmer, don't be fooled, it is still very cold around the edges. I got fooled myself & made the mistake of wearing a skirt with jandals & ventured out into town, i got a complete shock when i caught my reflection & could swear that my legs look like they've been soaking in napisan all winter! despite summery appearances i was cold as & very jealous of passer bys wrapped up warm in woollen paraphernalia & concluded that the "lovingly-hand-crafted-homemade-crochet-goods market" was still in high demand. SO this being said... We are coming right at ya with a stall that will knock your socks off & replace them with crochet woollen goods that are good for the soul. WHO? WHAT? WHEN? WHERE? WHY? you ask? THREE BAGS FULL have secured a stall at UPPER HUTT SPRING FESTIVAL featuring our friend, guest & fellow crocheter KATE BETTERIDGE this SATURDAY 5th SEPT. 9am-3pm THREEBAGSFULL will have a stall on Main Street, Upper Hutt, inbetween Mayfair Cafe & Romeo's. be there or be cold! Much love & warm wishes Sonia xo |
